It’s July 1 and, in the United Methodist Church, it’s the day on which new pastoral appointments take effect.
And, for our great family at Oxon Hill UMC, that means the official start of our time with Rev. Mi Ja Cho as our pastor! We welcome Pastor Cho with open hearts and open arms — well, as much as you can in these COVID times — and are excited for our shared journey in Christ.
We also want to take this time to give bounteous thanks to our District Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Johnsie Cogman, who served as interim pastor these past six months and guided us through times of uncertainty and kept us vigilant and vibrant so we could get to this day. THANK YOU!
That would be incomplete if we didn’t include Ministers Gregory and Delila Parham, who teamed with Dr. Cogman to deliver the message on Sundays, at first in the building and then in our Zoom worship experience. They are filled with the Spirit and are a blessing to us and to all they serve to the glory of God. THANK YOU!
We look forward to Pastor Cho’s first Sunday service with us, this Sunday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m.

We used to be members in the 1970-1995, and we’re trying to remember the times of worship services and SS hours during that time. Could you check and let me know. Thks, Gene Buccelli
OHUMC
Hello Gene! This is Steve Repsher. I was there during all of that and, IIRC, the times never really changed. Worship was at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Adult Sunday School was at 9:30, with all of the children/youth classes at 11.
